CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte’s stock of apartments is continuing to grow.
Several rezoning petitions approved by Charlotte City Council in June, for instance, could result in hundreds more apartments added across the city. That includes up to 330 apartments planned near Berewick Town Center and Charlotte Premium Outlets in Steele Creek as well as another 350 units proposed as part of a larger mixed-use development in east Charlotte, near the Albemarle Road interchange on Interstate 485.
And at the massive Rea Farms project in south Charlotte, the first residents have started to move into the apartment portion of the 188-acre mixed-use development, located at the intersection of Providence and Ardrey Kell roads. The Links at Rea Farms community includes one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with a lengthy amenities list as well as rental townhouses. Development of single-family homes has started in the Woodlands community at Rea Farms, with prices starting at $558,095 and sales currently underway.
Elsewhere in south Charlotte, a small development of luxury homes is planned on Anthony Road, about a mile off Providence Road. And in the opposite direction from uptown, a rezoning petition has been filed for 16 single-family homes in NoDa.
