Real estate roundup: Latest residential projects around town

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The local pool of new residential projects either underway or proposed across the Charlotte area deepened to begin the year. The rush of new development was led by plans for more apartments and townhouses.

That includes a couple of apartment towers for uptown and SouthPark — Charlotte City Council at its January zoning meeting approved a petition for 350 apartments and retail space at North Smith and West 10th streets, and Dominion Realty Partners that same month filed a rezoning request to build as many as 365 apartments in a 15-story building on Fairview Road.

And a plethora of apartment and townhouse projects also got the green light at the city’s zoning meeting in January, spanning NoDa, east Charlotte and the northern part of the Queen City.

Other such developments are pegged for sites in Charlotte’s Gold District, near South End, the mixed-use Ayrsley development in southwest Charlotte, and Pineville, among other areas.

Check out this slideshow for a look at these and other residential projects reported by CBJ staffers in January.
