NORTH CAROLINA — Repairs continue along the Blue Ridge Parkway following damage from 45 landslides caused by Helene, with the most significant work happening between Mount Mitchell and Little Switzerland.
While most of the 469‑mile roadway has reopened, crews are still moving heavy equipment through the affected areas.
Drivers are urged to slow down and stay alert, according to WLOS.
Parkway officials say visitors should expect a high volume of dump trucks using the roadway to speed up repair efforts.
Safety measures include a reduced 35‑mph speed limit, increased law enforcement presence, and occasional one‑lane traffic patterns.
