LINVILLE GORGE, N.C. — Rescue crews helped a group of hikers to safety Wednesday after they got stranded in the Linville Gorge.
The group of five hikers went into the gorge on Sunday and became stranded after a big rainstorm came through, causing the Linville River to rise quickly.
The people involved were reported missing Tuesday night.
Rescue crews found the group on Wednesday and strung rope across the river to get the hikers to safety.
