CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Residents in a Charlotte neighborhood went door to door trying to get people to sign a petition against possible rezoning.
The plan also includes a proposal to build new townhomes in the Commonwealth-Morningside community.
This area is bordered by Plaza Midwood and Chantilly.
Some neighbors said they're worried that will ruin the charm of their neighborhood.
“The overall goal is to put in very smart development that fits in with the community.” Jeannie Fenell said.
There are nearly 300 homes in the neighborhood and board members said most residents are against the rezoning.
