CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters had to stay hydrated overnight as they fought a house fire in south Charlotte.
Crews were called around 1 a.m. to the home on Homestead Place, off Ardrey Kell Road and found the roof on fire.
The battalion chief told Channel 9 the fire started upstairs and spread to the roof, and firefighters are worried that the roof may collapse.
Both the homeowners and their dogs got out of the home safely.
