SC residents lost more than $200M to cybercrimes in 2025

SOUTH CAROLINA — The FBI says South Carolina residents lost $264 million to cybercrimes last year.

That’s up from $118 million in 2024.

The FBI says South Carolina ranked 21st in losses nationwide.

Adults aged 60 or older were the hardest hit, accounting for $97 million in reported losses.

The schemes involved investment fraud, compromised email accounts, and tech support scams.
