Sheriff: Man wearing monkey mask robs convenience store

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — The York County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man police said was wearing a monkey mask when he robbed a convenience store in Rock Hill.

Deputies said the robbery happened around 9:35 p.m. Thursday. Officials said the man was wearing the mask, a gray hooded shirt over a red shirt, black pants and red shoes with white soles. They said he was armed with a knife.

The man only took the money from the register, 25 rolls of pennies and the clerk's wallet. After pleading with the man, the robber let the clerk keep her debit card. The clerk said when he gave it back to her, he said "it was her lucky day" and then fled.
