CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Ten children got the surprise of a lifetime when they realized their shopping partner was going to be Carolina Panthers defensive linebacker Luke Kuechly.
Kuechly surprised the kids at Dick's Sporting Goods in SouthPark Mall with $100 gift cards. The children spent time shopping with Kuechly, who served as their personal shopping consultant.
"I think with kids you see very real emotion, how excited they'll be so I'm sure they're excited to get some cool gear here at Dicks but when those kids faces light up I think it's even cooler for us and other guys on the team to see that kind of stuff," Kuechly said.
The children were from Most Valuable Kids, a charitable youth organization in Charlotte. They were selected to gear up with Kuechly before attending Jonathan Stewart’s ProCamp.
