SouthPark cupcake shop to close as pandemic drags on

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It’s the final days for Gigi’s Cupcakes in Charlotte.

Gigi’s local owner Dana Walton expects to close the business later this month — after one last Valentine’s Day, the shop’s busiest time.

It is located in Sharon Corners at 4732 Sharon Road.

“I don’t want to lose it, but I can’t imagine continuing like this for a year or more. I can’t even keep up,” Walton says.
