LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Students in Lincoln County return to school Wednesday and new officers are already on campus.
The school board and commissioners recently approved a plan to add resource officers to all elementary schools. The officers have just finished a week of training preparing for the arrival of students.
Parents asked for the officers on campus following school shootings nationwide that garnered headlines and concerns.
“As a mom, I feel more comfortable having an officer onsite with the students throughout the school day,” Eileen Henderson said.
