Stanly County School Board hires new superintendent

STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — Stanly County School Board hired a new superintendent Tuesday night. Dr. Jeff James starts in March. He’s currently assistant superintendent of curriculum for Montgomery County schools.

His salary is $130,000.

Former superintendent Bill Josey resigned last year.

Channel 9 has been investigating allegations of misconduct against Josey after learning he was in a relationship with a now former teaching assistant.
