Starbucks among first tenants signed at mixed-use development in University City area

CHARLOTTE — Starbucks has landed space at a new 15-acre mixed-use development at the entrance of University Research Park in north Charlotte.

The coffee chain has signed a deal for a 2,225-square-foot freestanding building with a double drive-thru at the main intersection. Dallas-based DECA Dental Group will occupy 2,400 square feet at the project as well.

Florida-based real estate development firm Stiles is behind the 20,000-square-foot retail component of that project. National homebuilder Taylor Morrison will develop a 135-unit townhome project there.
