Statesville motel closing, affordable housing for families at risk

STATESVILLE, N.C. — A Statesville motel turned into affordable housing for dozens of families will close on Aug. 31.

Local ministries are pitching into help the people who live at the Brookwood Inn.

Channel 9 has been covering the motel since 2019 when the motel manager raised money for some residents facing financial challenges.

Fifth Street Ministries is helping families find new homes and resources.
