ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Students were evacuated Tuesday morning from South Rowan High School after smoke was spotted coming from one of the classrooms, according to Rowan-Salisbury school officials.
School officials moved students to the stadium while firefighters were on the scene.
The cause of the smoke was determined to be a malfunctioning HVAC fan.
The students were let back into the school around 11:30 a.m.
