SUGAR MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Sugar Mountain Ski Resort announced Monday that its open for skiers and snowboarders as the Charlotte region recorded its coldest morning of the season.
Representatives for the resort said visitors can expect eight to 24 inches of snow on opening day, and noted that the Summit Express chairlift is in operation for the Northridge, Switchback, Upper and Lower Flying Mile slopes.
Full-day sessions run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while half-day sessions begin at noon. Resort representatives added that night sessions may begin Friday.
The resort’s ice rink, tubing park and shops open Monday as well.
