Sushi possible cause of new salmonella outbreak

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North and South Carolina are among the 19 states that have seen cases of a new salmonella outbreak.

Nearly 100 people nationwide have become sick from the strain.

The source of the outbreak is unknown right now, but investigators are focusing on spicy tuna sushi rolls as a possible culprit.

The Food and Drug Administration is working with the Centers for Disease Control to interview sick patients to trace the path of the bacteria.
