CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three people are suing Equifax over so-called “death by credit bureau.”
Jorge Hernandez lives in Charlotte.
In October 2019, he wanted to dispute something on his credit report. He said he tried, but Equifax sent him a letter saying he was listed as dead.
Hernandez claims the company had no reason to think that and he tried to convince it otherwise. He said the mistake is still on his credit report, hurting his score and his ability to borrow money.
He and the other two plaintiffs, who live in New York, claim this should be a class action and include anyone else in the same situation.
Action 9 emailed Equifax Tuesday but had not heard back.
