Trio arrested after police find $642K worth of heroin, cocaine, fentanyl mix

LENOIR, N.C. — Police say an apparent drug overdose led to three arrests and a large drug bust at a home in Caldwell County Monday afternoon.

It happened just after 3 p.m. on Spruce Street in Lenoir.

When officers got to the house, they found 36-year-old Crystal Mooney unresponsive, gray in color and not breathing in the basement. They said she was suffering from an apparent drug overdose.

After one dose of Narcan nasal spray, officials said Crystal Mooney started to improve, and she was taken to the hospital.

When officers searched the house, they found more than 1,000 grams of a cocaine, heroin and fentanyl mixture.

They also found several guns and $2,275 in cash.

The drugs were valued at $640,000, according to Lenoir police.

Crystal Mooney was arrested after she was released from the hospital. She was charged with felony trafficking in cocaine and felony trafficking in opium/heroin.

Police said 38-year-old Lance Mooney was arrested on charges for felony trafficking in opium/heroin, felony trafficking in cocaine and felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for the purpose of a controlled substance.

William Mooney, 63, was charged with misdemeanor resist, delay or obstructing a public officer when he reportedly tried to come into the crime scene.

He was also charged with misdemeanor assault on a government official when police said he kicked one of the officers during his arrest.
