CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people were killed in a vehicle fire on Interstate 77 northbound Sunday morning.

Officials said the crash happened around 2:40 a.m. near West Trade Street.
MEDIC confirmed two people were killed in the vehicle fire.
The road was shut down for a few hours while Highway Patrol conducted an investigation.
No other information has been released.
