CHARLOTTE — North Carolina’s primaries are wrapping up Tuesday as voters decide who will represent their parties in this year’s mid-term elections.

7:30 p.m. - Polls have officially closed in the majority of North Carolina, with the exception of Halifax County. Election officials are delaying the release of election results due to a delay in voting hours at one precinct location.
8:30 p.m- Standby for results in North Carolina.
8:40 p.m.- Results are starting to post. 11% of precincts statewide. Roy Cooper has 92% in the Democratic primary. Michael Whatley has 65% in the Republican primary.
8:43 p.m.- With early voting totals posted, Monifa Drayton leads longtime Mecklenburg County D2 Commissioner Vilma Leake by 190 votes.
The first round of results won’t be released before 8:30 p.m.
