Upscale chophouse restaurant opens in Fort Mill

FORT MILL, S.C. — This upscale chophouse has doubled down on the Charlotte market.

Epic Chophouse recently opened a 5,600-square-foot location in the Kingsley Town Center.

That Fort Mill mixed-use development is located at Exit 85 off Interstate 77.

Founders Rick Mack and Larry Sponaugle had been considering expansion for some time.

“We were looking to do new things and it just hit us at the right time,” Sponaugle says.

Then came Covid-19 — and those plans hit a stumbling block as funding for the project dried up.
