CHARLOTTE — Two new concepts have signed on to this midrise tower in uptown Charlotte.
Havana Smoke & Reserve and Novelty House Rooftop expect to debut this summer in the Binaco Tower. The five-story, 13,000-square-foot building is at 123 E. Fifth St.

Novelty Smoke Group LLC — let by veteran entertainment operator Ian Jones — is behind those ventures. Jones’ resume includes 22 years in the hospitality business, with more than a decade as general manager at Bubble and Suite.
“We look forward to adding to the excitement of Fifth Street with places that appeal to both men and women inspired by our travel to major cities,” Jones says.
He says customer experience will be the focus of both establishments. “I feel like it’s my time to show people how we do it right.”
