Walgreens to expand in NC, buying Raleigh-based Kerr Drug

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Drugstore giant Walgreens is expanding in North Carolina.

The company is buying Raleigh-based Kerr Drug.

Kerr has several stores in Concord, Gastonia and Troutman.

Walgreens said customers will see changes early next year.

The signs outside will change and some of Kerr's stores could be shut down.

Those would be the ones closest to existing Walgreens.

Walgreens said those details have not yet been finalized.
