CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Wells Fargo announced that it is investing more than $4 million in the Charlotte area.
Eyewitness News was in uptown Charlotte for the announcement on Saturday morning, which was part of a kickoff event for Wells Fargo's Day of Caring.
More than 1,700 employees signed up to give back to the community.
Wells Fargo's Charlotte regional president told Eyewitness News building a strong community is essential.
The $4 million investment will especially help out dozens of organizers in the West Boulevard community.
Among them, the Mint Museum is set to receive $100,000, the YMCA Y-achievers program will receive $200,000 and Safe Alliance, a domestic violence program, is set to receive a $250,000 grant.
