Why are shelves empty at the Longview Piggly Wiggly?

LONGVIEW, N.C. — A viewer reached out to Action 9 concerned about the future of a local Piggly Wiggly after spotting numerous empty food shelves.

Take a look at the pictures -- throughout the store, different sections were left bare like you’d expect around a major disaster.

One viewer told Action 9′s Jason Stoogenke she was worried that the grocery store was going out of business, so Stoogenke checked with the owner.

The owner at the Longview Piggly Wiggly said the store isn’t closing.

He said he’s currently “restructuring and resetting” the entire store. He said employees are also “retagging” all of the prices.

The owner said a full restock in the store is set for next week.
