CONCORD, N.C. — Two people died after a serious crash Monday morning in Concord.
Concord police were called to the scene at 7:19 a.m. on Branchview Drive, north of Old Airport Road.
Catherine Ivey, 54, was driving a 2008 Kia Rondo north on Branchview Drive and lost control of her SUV. She crossed the center lane and crashed into a 2004 Chrysler Sebring convertible driven by Stephen Barnhardt, 29.
Ivey was pronounced dead at the scene. Barnhardt was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center – Main in Charlotte.
On Wednesday, officials said Barnhardt died at the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation.
