CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A car hit a woman and a baby in South End late Tuesday afternoon and did not stop, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.

The woman was pushing a baby stroller at South Church Street and West Summit Avenue when she was hit.
The woman and baby are OK, officials said.
Residents said drivers are reckless on those roads.
“All around here, you have to pay attention when you're crossing the street and hitting the crosswalks up because people are trying to get home fast and not paying attention and a lot of times on the phone,” Peter Navarro said.
