York County man sentenced to 30 years for killing landlord

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A York County man will spend 30 years in prison for killing his landlord and possessing child sex material.

According to the Rock Hill Herald, Mitchell Strickland pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the May 2024 death of Steven Stowe.

Authorities arrested Strickland and his wife in North Carolina after the shooting.

An accessory charge against his wife is still pending.
