CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It's been more than a year, and the shooting death of 26-year-old Ketie Jones in Plaza Midwood remains unsolved. But now, investigators are hoping some national attention will help them bring her family justice.
Jones’ death shook people in the Plaza Midwood community where she lived and worked.
Crime Watch Daily episode on Ketie Jones' homicide investigation will air at 9 p.m. Friday on TV64. Eyewitness News at 10 p.m. will after with all your major news of the night.
Jones was walking home after a night out with friends in October 2016 when she was shot and killed along Hamorton Place, near Central Avenue, just blocks from her home.

"It’s been over a year, and every day I wake up and I cry,” Jevona Livingston, Jones mother, said.
A motive in the shooting has never been released.
Crime Watch Daily, a national crime investigation show on TV64, is now highlighting Jones’ case and spoke with the lead investigator, who discussed surveillance video from that night and what it captured.
"It doesn't really appear that she would have had time to defend herself,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Det. Shana Isenhour said.
Surveillance video from a church nearby shows Jones walking, and then headlights from a car pulling up.
Police believe the shot was fired from inside that vehicle and that Jones was caught off-guard.
"You can see headlights from the vehicle appear in the screen for a very, very brief moment,” Jones said.

The car drove off and Jones was later found dead, leaving her mother with questions.
"I need answers. I need my brain to rest,” Livingston said.
Despite the frustration and loss, Jones’ mother said she forgives the shooter.

"I'm not the kind of person to hold a grudge, even over my daughter, cause she wouldn't want that," Livingston said.
