YORK, S.C.,None — The York Police Department charged a man Friday in the murder of a former city worker.
Ernest Tolbert, 63, was shot outside a Laundromat on Black Burn Street in September 2008 during an attempted robbery.
Tolbert worked in the sanitation division for the city of York for 19 years.
Eyewitness News learned Friday police charged Jomar Robinson, 29, with the murder in the case.
Investigators said Robinson made a confession to the crime.
Police charged Robinson with murder, attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Robinson is currently serving a life sentence on drug violations.
