CONCORD, N.C.,None — Channel 9 spoke to the man who survived a deadly triple shooting in Concord Sunday night.
Fredy Guzman was in a home on Broad Drive with his girlfriend and her six children.
That's when police said his girlfriend's estranged husband came to the house and was angry that the couple was living together.
Guzman, with the help of a translator, explained to Channel 9 what happened next.
"He said when he saw him taking out the gun, he went into him and stopped, (to) make him stop. They were fighting over the gun and everything," he said.
Eladio Hernandez-Pelaez shot and killed Isidra Sarabio and injured Guzman, police said.
According to police, he then shot and killed himself.
Police said there were between five and 10 people inside the house, including the children, when the shootings happened.
"With that many people there and children there, we're lucky that no one else got hurt or received any injuries. It's bad enough like it is," said Chief Guy Smith with Concord police.
Guzman was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, treated for his injuries and later released.
