TROUTMAN, N.C. — Police are conducting a death investigation after they found a man's body at a truck stop in Iredell County.
Police said a rental truck was found in the parking lot of the Wilco truck stop on Highway 21 off Interstate 77 just outside Troutman.
Iredell County Sheriff's deputies said they believe the victim was previously reported missing in December 2011 and that truck he was driving was reported stolen.
The victim's body was found in the sleeper area of the cab, police said. Police said they don't believe the death is suspicious.
DNA testing will be done to positively identify the victim due to the condition of the body.
The victim's name has not been released.
