None — A registered sex offender who has been on the Cleveland County most-wanted list for more than a year was captured Wednesday.
James Lee Mayhorn, 26, who had a listed address on Mount Sinai Church Road, Shelby, has been wanted since March 2010 for allegedly moving without notifying the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office of his whereabouts.
State law requires sex offenders to register their addresses with the sheriff of the county in which they reside and notify authorities within three days of changing addresses.
Mayhorn is registered as a sex offender from an out-of-state conviction in 2006, according to the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry.
Mayhorn failed to update his address on Feb. 13, 2010, according to an arrest warrant issued the following month.
Mayhorn was charged with felony failure to register as a sex offender.
He was arrested Wednesday and jailed under a $15,000 secured bond, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff‘s Office website.
