RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are looking at damaged banners at the North Carolina Republican Party headquarters, including one celebrating Donald Trump's presidential election victory.
Executive Director Dallas Woodhouse says party workers arrived Thursday morning to find the banners on the front of the headquarters building shredded. Woodhouse says the banners had just been hung Wednesday evening.
A Raleigh police officer came to the scene later Thursday. Woodhouse says the party is looking at whether security cameras above the front door recorded what happened.
The apparent vandalism occurred about a month after someone tossed a flammable device through a window at Orange County Republican Party headquarters in Hillsborough. There were no injuries.
Police say vandals last week also painted graffiti on the Alamance County GOP building.
