None — America's favorite sandwich cracker just got a little better. Lance is a leader in the sandwich cracker category when it comes to making consumer-desired nutritional changes, such as being among the first snack food manufacturers to remove lard from its entire product line in 1988 and trans fat in 2004.
All Lance sandwich cracker varieties are baked fresh with real cheese or peanut butter, and no preservatives or trans fat. Now Lance sandwich crackers are better than ever with the December 2008 removal of high-fructose corn syrup from all 13 varieties of its sandwich crackers.
High-fructose corn syrup has been under increased scrutiny from consumers and nutritional professionals alike with allegations about a potential link to the rise in type 2 diabetes, obesity and other health problems. While the science behind these allegations remains under examination, Lance decided to remove the ingredient entirely.
