UNION COUNTY, N.C.,None — Detectives in Union County arrested three people in connection with a violent robbery that ended with one of the suspects dead.
Investigators said Joel Brewer, JOshua Simplson and Dalton Mayhew were all involved in a robbery at a home in Marshville earlier this month.
Another suspect, Robert Smith, was found dead behing Monroe High School the morning after the robbery.
Investigators believe Smith was shot by the robbery victim when they were firing at each other.
The distrct attorney's office is now investigating the case.
