KANNAPOLIS, N.C.,None — Police are searching for the man who they said shot two people at an apartment complex in Kannapolis.
Derrick and Shannon Miller were shot multiple times in the parking lot of Oak Crest Apartments on Monday afternoon, police said.
Both are in fair condition at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast.
Warrants for two counts of attempted murder have been issued for Donald Brown in connection with the shootings. Police said Brown left the apartment complex in Shannon Miller's car, which is described as a silver, two-door Chevy Cavalier with the North Carolina tag ZNT-7847. The car has a broken back window that is covered with plastic, police said.
Dawn Rosario said her husband and daughter were at their nearby home at the time of the shootings. They heard five gunshots, she said.
"I'm at work. (My daughter) calls me up screaming and crying that somebody got shot downstairs and my husband runs out there and he was the first one that helped her and called the police," she said.
Kannapolis police ask that anyone with information on Brown's whereabouts call them at 704-920-4000 or Cabarrus County Crime Stoppers at 704-932-7463.
