Popular Davidson restaurant suffers smoke damage overnight

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Firefighters responded to a fire at a popular restaurant in Davidson overnight.

Officials said someone left a coffee pot on the stove at the Pickled Peach on South Main Street, causing smoke to fill the building.

Officers on patrol nearby could smell it and called the fire department.

No one was hurt but the restaurant suffered some smoke damage.

It was unclear if the restaurant planned to open Thursday.
