Rain will continue overnight into Monday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The rain has arrived, and Chief Meteorologist Steve Udelson said it will stick around for awhile.

There will be periods or rain overnight through lunchtime Monday.

Another inch or so of rain may fall before the area starts to dry out. However, it will stay warm and temperatures will only drop to about 60 degrees Sunday night and won't budge Monday.

It will fall into the 50s by late Monday.

There will be a dramatic cool down starting Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with highs in the 40s.
