SHELBY, N.C.,None — Sheriff's deputies have charged a Shelby woman with intimidating a witness scheduled to testify against her in a criminal case.
Angela Nicole Stewart, 30, of the 500 block of Park Drive, repeatedly called and contacted the witness in an attempt to get charges of felonious breaking and entering, felonious larceny and felonious possession of stolen goods dismissed, according to a warrant for Stewart's arrest.
Stewart also tried to prevent the witness from testifying against her, according to another warrant. The alleged contact with the witness took place from Aug. 2 to Aug. 11, and a warrant for Stewart's arrest was issued Friday.
Stewart was arrested Tuesday and charged with intimidating a witness and obstruction of justice. She was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center without bond.
