GASTONIA, N.C. — A local woman ordered a bouquet of flowers for her mother for Mother's Day from a Gastonia florist, but she was disappointed by the bouquet that was delivered.
She tried to get the flower shop to deliver another bouquet, but after a few phone calls, she didn't hear from the shop owner again.
Cindy Scott's daughter sent her a bouquet of five tulips and two roses. Scott said the florist was skimpy.
"I think it's terrible," Scott said. "That does not look like something my daughter would send me."
Scott's daughter had gone online to Climbing the Walls, a Gastonia florist and purchased their $54 Full of Love bouquet. She expected it to be full of roses, carnations and tulips.
"This should have been what they brought me," Scott said. "I could have done better if I went out and picked wildflowers."
Scott called the Gastonia florist and said at first he promised to deliver another bouquet, but she said later the conversation became heated and he hung up.
"And I haven't heard from them since," Scott said.
Florist Randy Ouzts said he was waiting for Scott to call back to schedule delivery, but he admitted it was the florist's mistake.
"We do two to three hundred arrangements and sometimes we mess up and this time we messed up," Ouzts said.
He told Action 9 he'd send out a new Full of Love bouquet.
Scott said it still has fewer flowers than what's on the website, but she said it's a lesson for anyone buying flowers online.
