CHESTNUTHILL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A person wearing a clown mask wielded a “samurai sword” while robbing a Pennsylvania convenience store on Thursday, authorities said.
According to a news release from the Pennsylvania State Police, the thief entered the rear of the Uni-Mart store in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said the suspect forced the cashier to open the register and took an undetermined amount of cash, WBRE-TV reported.

The suspect then fled the area, running into a nearby wooded area, according to WNEP-TV.
In addition to the mask and sword, the suspect was also described as wearing gray sweatpants, a white T-shirt and black socks, state police said in the news release.
Chestnuthill Township is located southeast of Wilkes-Barre in Monroe County.
