Security cameras outside the woman’s house caught the July 25 attack, WRGB-TV reported. A relative of the woman, Ed Russo, shared the frightening video on Facebook earlier this week. Russo is a meteorologist for WHP-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

In the video, the woman can be seen talking on her cellphone as the fox runs up behind her and attacks her leg, the television station reported.

The woman immediately shakes the animal loose and kicks it, OutdoorLife reported. Normally, that would scare the animal away, but this was one persistent fox.

The animal continues to nip at the woman’s leg and then bites her hand, the video shows. She tosses the fox away but the animal charges again after hitting the ground.

The fox continued to attack but the woman finally managed to break free and the animal left the scene, WRGB reported.

“She is OK and has been treated appropriately,” Russo wrote on Facebook. “She sought medical attention immediately. She did everything right. The fox almost attacked someone else shortly after this but was caught. The animal tested positive for rabies after it was put down humanely.”
