CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Thanks for participating in our survey. Will You Shop At Whole Foods? Will you shop at the Charlotte branch of Whole Foods? Yes, I'll do most of my grocery shopping there. Yes, but only sometimes. No.

Whole Foods Market is coming to Charlotte.

The natural and organic foods market will occupy about 42,000 square feet in the mixed-use Ashley Park development, located at the intersection of Fairview and Sharon roads in the SouthPark area.

The store will break ground in spring 2011 and is targeted to open in spring 2012.

"Charlotte is a great fit for Whole Foods Market, and adding Charlotte to our growing map of Southeastern store locations is a goal we have worked hard to achieve," said Scott Allshouse, regional president for Whole Foods Market.

Whole Foods has several stores in North Carolina, including locations in Asheville, Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh and Winston-Salem. Stores are also planned to open in Raleigh in 2011 and Greensboro in 2012.
