Union County elementary school students show Panthers pride

Students at a Union County school showed off their Panther pride Friday.

New Town Elementary School turned black and blue, with students decked out in their panthers gear.

Most of them are too young to remember the team's last playoff appearance six years ago so this game is a really big deal to them.

In fact, one teacher said it was tough getting them to concentrate on their classwork Friday.

"Trying to get them to take their reading seriously, they're probably going to be thinking about the game the whole time," said Heather Lockrem, a teacher.
