CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Vance High School dominated Rocky River 51-0 in the WSOC-TV High School Football Extra Game of the Week Friday night in Charlotte.
The Cougars (3-0) jumped out to a 37-0 advantage by halftime in their home opener.
More than 106,000 people chimed in to vote on the game of the week.
Vance has won the last three meetings between the schools.
Vance squeaked out a 21-14 win over West Mecklenburg in its opener before topping Monroe 36-20 last week.
Vance lost Big 22 Player to Watch Gerald Nathan Jr. from last year's team. Nathan, a linebacker, is playing in college at Missouri.
Rocky River (2-1) defeated South Iredell 26-9 and Berry Academy 23-10 to open the season.
The Ravens are led by quarterback Brent Jones, running back Gabriel Linen and wide receiver James Maye.
Vance will host South Mecklenburg next on Sept. 14, while Rocky River will play host to North Mecklenburg next week.
