Winds will finally start to calm down Thursday night leading to a very nice stretch of weather through the weekend. We'll see plenty of sun and while we will start out chilly on Fri - we will warm into the 60’s by Sunday and stay there early next week.
Thursday night: Temperatures near freezing. Mountain snow showers end and winds die down.
Friday: Temperatures in low 50’s. Sunny but cool.
Weekend weather: Warmer over the weekend with temperatures in the mid-50’s Saturday and mid-60’s Sunday with sunny skies.
Rain chances: Next rain chance will be late Tuesday night
Northern snow: Snow continued to fall in the High Country, with a total of 1-3 inches Thursday with 3-6 possible at the ridge tops. Both Watauga and Avery County Schools were closed Thursday while Ashe County Schools were operating on a 3-hour delay.
