CHARLOTTE, N.C. — From Easter egg hunts to photo ops with the Easter Bunny, we found a few places where you can have a hoppin’ good time Easter weekend.
Friday
Easter Bunny Express at North Carolina Transportation Museum — See the Easter Bunny and take a train ride. Each child will receive a goodie bag, a coloring sheet and a craft to take home. Easter egg hunts at Optimist Hall — Enjoy a kid-friendly egg hunt for ages 12 and younger at 10 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., an adults-only hunt will be held for big kids wanting to have a little fun as well. Bring your own basket or bag to collect eggs and meet in front of Fonta Flora at the starting times. Free to attend, must be wearing a mask to participate. Click here for more details.
Easter Bunny skate at Extreme Ice Center — There will be photo opportunities with Sunny Bunny and Easter-themed activities from 1 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. Admission costs $10; skate rental costs $5. Click here for more details.
Easter egg hunt at Rescue Ranch — Egg hunts will be held according to age, and there’s even one for your four-legged family member. There will also be a food truck, face painter and coffee cart on-site. Guests will have access to the ranch’s playground and barnyard animals, too. Cost is $5 per person. Click here for more details.

The Great Easter Eggspedition in Matthews — Search for golden Easter eggs throughout the town of Matthews. Clues will be posted on the Town of Matthews Parks and Recreation Facebook page. Golden eggs can be redeemed for prizes. Limit one golden egg per family. Click here for more details.
Easter egg hunt at Dallas Lavender Lane Farm — The farm will open for the season and host an Easter egg hunt for all ages. The hunt starts at 10 a.m. and goes until all 1,100 eggs are found. 10 eggs per child limit. 10 golden eggs will be hidden for prizes. There will also be kid-friendly crafting.
