CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte barber is taking his skills outside the barbershop and into local schools.
Elliot Riley has been a barber for 15 years and owns The Grooming Lounge at Northlake Mall.
Once a week, on his day off, Riley cuts kids’ hair for free inside several Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools.
“Whenever you look good, you put your best foot forward,” said Riley.
Riley also has a foundation called Groomed for Greatness which offers free grooming services to the youth of the Charlotte community who don’t have access.
>>> In the video at the top of the page, Channel 9 reporter Elsa Gillis shows how something as simple as a haircut can change a child’s perspective.
